Hardwood Flooring Types

For the most part Hardwood Flooring comes in these "Grades". But the consumer rarely refers to it as Grades, they prefer instead the term "Types". That's the way we are going to address the same issue....from a consumer pint of view.

Clear Grade - Select and Better

When Hardwood flooring has this designation, we are referring to a board that is completely free of any knots, with no color variation between hard and soft wood, heart and sap wood, and a precise length specification of the boards, and average length of the complete product. Example (14" to 74" random length boards, average etc. etc.)

Tradition Grade, Pacific grade, Select..

We allow color variations between Heart and Sap wood, (how much color depends on the species and manufacturer), and also the length requirements are relaxed.

Rustic, Cabin Grade

Short short lenghts, and knots are allowed

Character Grade

Extreme color variations and certain amount of knots allowed....super long length.
